Halloween is around the corner and kids will be canvassing your neighborhood with their parents on the trick or treat trail. You should be sure your home does not present hazards that could lead to an injured child or adult.

In their excitement, kids may run across your lawn in their dash to your front door. Be sure there are no hazards like a hose on the ground. Remove all trip hazards.

Are there any holes in your yard or uneven ground that could cause someone to fall? Either fill them in or block them somehow.

Are there any loose bricks on the walkway? Are your steps or walkway moldy from all the September rain and thus may pose a slip hazard? Repair loose bricks or stones and power wash the walkway and steps.

Trick or Treaters do come after dark so make sure your yard is well lighted. Leave porch lights on and maybe put up extra lights.

If you decorate your yard and house for Halloween,
you do attract people to your property
and it is your obligation to ensure their safety.

Have a safe Halloween!!
