Congratulations to Governor Haley for having the wisdom to order the evacuation prior to Hurricane Matthew’s arrival in South Carolina. She and her staff were dead on in the assessment of the situation.

The evacuation plan seemed to have worked very well. The lane reversals certainly prevented a Hurricane Floyd (1999) type traffic jam. I am sure there were lessons learned and these lessons will be incorporated into future plans.

We extend our thanks to all law enforcement and all public servants – their efforts the past few days have been top notch.

Well done to all.
